Pre-dawn drive to Gurudongmar Lake (17,100 ft). This stunning lake is partially frozen even in summer. Considered sacred by both Buddhists and Hindus. Return Lachen for lunch, then drive to Lachung.
Early drive to Zero Point (15,300 ft). Back through Yumthang Valley (11,800 ft) in bloom. Return Gangtok.
Optional day trip to Pelling for Kanchenjunga views and Pemayangtse Monastery. Or rest day in Gangtok.
