Awoo Resort sits on the Bushtang hillface above the Kameng River, roughly 7.5 hours by road from Guwahati and under an hour from Bomdila — Dirang's easiest reach among Arunachal's premium stays. A Monpa family built and still runs it, and the design leans on that heritage: locally sourced timber and stone, motifs drawn from the Monpa folk tale of the 'Thun pa Phunji' (Four Harmonious Friends), and 22 rooms and suites rather than a hundred-key sprawl.
