Built in stone and timber at the base of the Apharwat range, close enough to the Gondola's Phase 1 station that ski-in convenience is the actual selling point rather than marketing language. This is Gulmarg's most complete luxury resort — 80 rooms plus five separate cottages, gardens landscaped along the lines of Srinagar's Nishat Bagh, a full spa with an indoor pool, and a Presidential Cottage with its own plunge pool and jacuzzi across two floors. The drive up from Srinagar runs about two hours and can extend in heavy snow, so winter guests should build in slack. In peak ski season (roughly December to March) it's the default address for anyone serious about Gulmarg's slopes; in summer it works as a quieter high-altitude base with golf-course access nearby. Not the choice for a Dal Lake-focused itinerary, and its scale means it lacks the intimacy of Gulmarg's smaller heritage hotels.
