Taj's contemporary answer to Srinagar's older palace hotels, built into the slope above Dal Lake on Boulevard Road with a tiered glass facade that gives most rooms a direct line to the water and Hari Parbat fort beyond it. It reads as a modern hotel rather than a heritage one — floor-to-ceiling windows, an indoor pool with a lake outlook, Jiva spa treatments — and the service follows the standard Taj group runs across its Vivanta properties rather than anything specifically Kashmiri. The Boulevard's shikara ghats and handicraft shops are a five-minute walk. Good for travellers who want dependable five-star infrastructure and Wi-Fi that actually works, without the upkeep quirks of a converted palace; less interesting for anyone specifically after Dogra-era architecture or houseboat time, which this property doesn't offer at all.
