An 18-room lodge at 8,960 feet, positioned as the proper bed at the edge of Sonamarg's meadow before the road climbs toward Thajiwas Glacier and eventually Zoji La, the pass into Ladakh. It's a small, straightforward property — restaurant, lawn, comfortable rooms — rather than a resort with extensive facilities, which fits the town: Sonamarg itself is more a base for glacier walks and pony treks than a destination with much else after dark. The Srinagar-Sonamarg road runs about 80km and 2.5-3 hours through Ganderbal, and the onward Zoji La stretch closes with winter snowfall, generally from November into spring, so this works best as a through-stop in season rather than a self-contained winter break. Good for travellers doing the Sonamarg day trip properly, with an overnight instead of a rushed round trip from Srinagar; not for anyone wanting spa or pool facilities, or planning a deep-winter stay without checking road status first.
