Cliff Top Club sits above Joshimath at roughly 3,049 metres, built directly on Auli's ski slopes with an almost uninterrupted 270-degree view of the Nanda Devi range along with Dronagiri, Trishul and Kamet on clear days. From December through mid-March the road up from Joshimath closes under snow, and the only way in is Asia's longest cable car, a roughly 4-kilometre ropeway that also carries skiers; a chairlift from lower Auli is the cheaper backup route. That seasonal cutoff is the whole appeal for winter visitors chasing skiing and sledging on genuine Himalayan snow rather than an artificial slope, but it also means limited food options and patchy heating in older rooms if a storm rolls in. Come April through October the snow melts into open meadows and the same rooms serve trekkers heading toward Gorson Bugyal instead. Luxury Studios are the standard entry point; paying the Nanda Devi-facing supplement is worth it for the view alone. Not a place for anyone wanting reliable road access, a big dining scene, or a low-altitude, easy trip.
