Vana sits on 21 acres of sal forest off Mussoorie Road, about 20 minutes from central Dehradun and under an hour from Jolly Grant airport — close enough that you could land from Delhi by afternoon and start a program by evening. Eighty percent of the grounds stay as natural habitat; walking trails, mango and lychee orchards and herb gardens wrap around low-rise, minimalist buildings in grey stone and timber. Every stay is full board with a compulsory wellness consultation on day one, which can mean personalised Ayurveda, Tibetan medicine or straight detox and sleep protocols — you follow a plan rather than order off a menu. Guests wear provided kurta pyjamas in common areas, which sets the tone: this is not a resort for room service and lounging by a pool with a novel. Standard rooms are comfortable rather than lavish; the four casas, with kitchenettes and private treatment spaces, are the top tier. Best suited to someone booking a minimum four- or five-night program with intent, not a weekend break.
