Evolve Back sits on a 300-acre working coffee and spice estate outside Siddapur, roughly 40 minutes from Madikeri town, in a pocket of Kodagu where pepper and cardamom vines climb between the coffee rows. All five room categories open onto a private, temperature-controlled pool, so the estate walks and birding trips the resort's naturalists lead are really the reason to step outside the villa rather than any need to. Architecture leans into Kodava vernacular — sloped tiled roofs, deep verandas, local stone — dressed with contemporary comfort rather than heavy decor. December brings the short coffee-flowering bloom that follows the first pre-monsoon showers, and the harvest itself runs November through January, the best stretch for estate visits. June to September is proper monsoon: dramatic, very green, but trails turn slippery and outdoor time gets limited. This suits a slow week more than a weekend — Bengaluru is a five-hour drive, or fly to Mangaluru and add two hours by road.
