Amaira sits above Mirik on Deosa Dara Road, built on land that was the owning family's childhood homestead — several original trees predate the resort itself. The operating idea is farm-to-table in a literal sense: vegetables are picked from the on-site organic farm as orders come in rather than held in a walk-in. Three room tiers climb the building by floor — ground-floor Deluxe rooms with wheelchair access and valley views, Premium rooms a level up facing forest and hill, and third-floor Luxury rooms in Mountain View and Forest View configurations with wide Kanchenjunga angles and hot-tub bathrooms, reached by stairs only. Rameetay Dara viewpoint is a 300m walk from the gate, and the resort runs guests to less-visited spots — Asaley waterfall, Chain Dara — plus day trips across the Nepal border, 30km off. Mirik, best known for Sumendu Lake, is under two hours from Bagdogra, closer than Darjeeling or Kalimpong. Suits families and couples wanting a working-farm setting away from the lakefront crowds; not for anyone needing lift access or restaurant variety beyond the house kitchen.
