Brunton Boatyard stands where the Brunton & Co. shipyard once operated, at the point where Kochi's harbour meets the Arabian Sea. All 22 rooms face the water, so guests watch container ships, fishing boats and the odd dolphin pass from their own balcony rather than a shared viewing deck. The building mixes Dutch, Portuguese and British colonial details into one whole, deliberately built to read as period architecture rather than a modern hotel wearing heritage dress. Fort Kochi's walkable core — the Chinese fishing nets, St Francis Church, Mattancherry's spice warehouses — is a short stroll away, which makes this a base for exploring on foot rather than a self-contained resort.
