A 25-acre property on the eastern edge of Vembanad Lake, built around old Kerala homes that were dismantled elsewhere and rebuilt here beam by beam, so the wood carvings and gabled roofs are genuinely a century or two old. Rooms sit inside these structures or in newer villas modelled on the same style, most with a private plunge pool and a slice of lake or canal. The resort runs its own Ayurveda centre, a toddy shop serving local palm wine, and a kettuvallom houseboat for overnight backwater cruising. Kottayam town is 16 km away, Cochin airport about 90 minutes by road. Good for a slow few days of paddling, birdwatching and spa treatments; not the place for anyone wanting nightlife, hard adventure, or a beach.
