Marari Beach Resort, a CGH Earth Experience
Mararikulam, near Alleppey
- Beachfront
- Wellness
- Spa
- Honeymoon
Marari Beach sits on 30 acres of coconut groves and paddy on a stretch of Arabian Sea coast still shared with a working fishing community next door, where boats come in with the morning catch and locals sort nets on the sand. Cottages copy the fisherfolk's own building style — coir-thatched roofs, open-air bathrooms, no glass in the windows — with pool villas at the upper end for guests who want air conditioning and a private plunge pool. The resort grows much of its own food on a four-acre organic farm and runs a serious Ayurveda wing with resident physicians. This is a quiet, unbranded beach rather than the party strip further south; right for travellers who want to read, cycle to the village, and eat well, wrong for anyone chasing beach clubs or big surf.
What sets it apart
- Beside a working fishing village, not a resort strip
- Cottages built in local fisherfolk style
- Four-acre organic farm supplies the kitchen
- Doctor-supervised Ayurveda wing
- 65 km, roughly 90 minutes, from Cochin airport
