Surya Samudra sits on a rocky headland at Pulinkudi, a few kilometres south of Kovalam's crowded main beach, with individual cottages scattered across the cliff rather than stacked into a building. Several of the cottages are traditional Kerala houses, some with architecture running to roughly 300 years old, relocated here and rebuilt among the coconut palms; each is fully detached, which gives genuine privacy rather than the shared-wall version of it. An infinity pool sits at the cliff edge above a private cove, and Trivandrum airport is about 20 km, roughly 40 minutes away. This is a property for couples and anyone wanting quiet and distance from Kovalam's beach crowds; it's a poor fit for large families or anyone who wants to walk straight onto a wide sand beach, since the cove below is rocky in parts.
