Temi is Sikkim's only tea garden, planted in the 1960s on the slopes below Tendong hill, and this restored colonial-era bungalow sits inside the working estate rather than beside it — guests wake to rows of tea bushes rather than a hotel car park. The main house holds five heritage-styled bedrooms with four-poster beds; upper floors look toward the Himalayan range and ground-floor rooms face the garden, and the whole building can also be booked as a single exclusive-use property for a family or group. The Bodhi Suite, on the first floor, is the standalone luxury pick, with a king four-poster bed and a rain shower. Eight separate cottages sit apart from the main house, each with a private balcony over the tea rows. It's a four-hour drive from Bagdogra or NJP, shorter than most of Sikkim's hill-station runs, though Indian visitors still need an Inner Line Permit, arranged online or at the Rangpo checkpost. Temi Tea Garden's own factory is a short walk away, and Buddha Park in Namchi and Ralong Monastery are both under an hour by car. Best for couples or families wanting a quiet, single-estate stay; not for anyone wanting nightlife or a big resort's facilities.
